Rahul Sharma

Dr. Rahul Sharma is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Virtual Care at Weill Cornell Medicine. He also serves as the emergency physician-in-chief at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and as the chief and medical director for the New York-Presbyterian Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Enterprise. In addition, he serves as a board member for the New York State Board for Medicine and is on the Board of Fellows of Weill Cornell Medicine.  

Dr. Sharma is an international leader in the fields of emergency medicine, health-care operations, virtual health care, and innovation. He has been recognized with numerous awards, including Crain's New York Business Notable in Health Care and Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Innovator in the Healthcare Industry. His work has been featured in several national media outlets and academic journals, including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, NEJM Catalyst, and JAMA.  

In 2020, Dr. Sharma helped lead the system-wide COVID-19 pandemic response at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, and launched several initiatives to transform health-care delivery and mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
