Ayla Gerk Rangel

Ayla Gerk Rangel is a U.S.-Brazilian medical doctor who graduated in Argentina and is currently pursuing her PhD at McGill University, supported by the Jean-Martin Laberge Fellowship in Global Pediatric Surgery. She conducts research at the Commisur Lab within the Harvey E. Beardmore Division of Pediatric Surgery at Montreal Children’s Hospital. Gerk recently completed the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. A passionate advocate for equity in global health, she serves as a junior advisor for the Gender Equity Initiative in Global Surgery.
