Kirstin Woody Scott, MD, MPhil, PhD, is a resident of emergency medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and former visiting scholar at the Institute for Health Metrics Sciences at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her research interests include contextualizing the levers that influence emergency medicine spending in the health-care system as well as policies that affect patient decision-making for seeking care in the emergency department. She currently chairs the Health Policy Committee of the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association.
