Omar Shilleh

Omar Shilleh is a second-year biology undergraduate at the University of La Verne and hopes to enter the medical field. His academic journey is grounded in a strong passion for the life sciences and a commitment to understanding the biological foundations of human health and disease. He is currently involved in research focused on bovine embryology, studying early-stage embryonic development in cattle to better understand reproductive biology and its broader applications in both veterinary and human medicine. In addition to conducting his research, Omar works as a general biology teaching assistant, supporting student learning through lab instruction, academic guidance, and fostering a collaborative classroom environment. Beyond academics, Omar is dedicated to mentorship, health education, and community engagement. He is known for his leadership, discipline, and compassion, often supporting his fellow pre-health students through advisory and volunteer efforts. His values—deeply rooted in his background and Islamic faith—guide him to live with balance, integrity, and purpose. Omar plans to pursue a medical degree with a focus in cardiology. His goal is to become a physician who not only delivers excellent clinical care but also serves as a trusted advocate for health equity, education, and culturally competent care in underserved communities.
